At last our first home win.
The first half into a slight wind we found ourselves defending for most of the half but playing well putting some nice passes together but following a rare mistake by Matthew Rossgarth scored 0-1.
But almost straight away Jack W went on a great run and smashed the ball into their net almost our first visit into their half 1-1.
Again we did a lot of defending with Luke, Ryan H, Seb and Charlie holding the offside line better than they have in the past but unbelievably Matthew made another error for them to score again 1-2.
This time it was Nathan who stepped up after some good play by the Swans the ball was cleared by Rossgarth but it fell to Nathan who hit a rocket from outside the box to give the keeper no chance 2-2.
Then we started to play more positively moving forward with Nathan and Jack W putting some good passes through for Zac and Jack R to run onto and off one of these Jack R put the ball away only for it to be disallowed by the ref. But then following good work by Ryan C on the right wing the ball struck a defenders hand in the box "PENALTY". Up stepped Jack W and he again smashed it past the keeper 3-2.
That how it ended at half-time.
The second half started with the Swans playing better with Tom working hard on the left wing and Luke and Charlie in particular making some great tackles at the back then Jack R (who never stopped running) put a ball through for Zac which he slotted home well to make it 4-2.
Matthew then made a couple of great saves to make up for his earlier errors but despite looking the more likely to score we conceded two to make it 4-4 which flattered them but that's football but then Nathan found himself with the ball and scored again for his second of the match 5-4 and that's how it finished.
A well deserved win with the team passing much better and holding their positions.
From a personal point of view this was the best birthday present the boys could give me. Thanks lads.
