Under 7’s
The Under 7’s were due to play Heathlands at home this week but a no show from Heathlands left the Under 7’s and their parents dissapointed on the sidelines. Not to dissapoint the 7’s, managers Jim & Rob turned the no show into a training session and the boys came off the pitch happy and muddy!!
Under 8’s
This weekend saw the visit of Bransgore, Bransgore fielding a strong team riding high in the league in 2nd place, not having lost so far this season and the only team to have taken points off Lymington, the league leaders. The 8’s fielding an under strength team with four new boys all starting were aware they were going to be up against it and conceeded two early goals from Swans ex striker Liam Carpenter through poor defending. Bransgore were commanding the midfield with the Swans new boys looking lost and finding it hard to get out of their half. Bransgore scored twice more manager Richard made a tactical change and pulled Jamie back into defence to stop the Bransgore onslaught then just before half time the Swans captain Corey having gone over on his ankle earlier had to come of the pitch injured. Half Time Swans 0 Bransgore 4
After a rousing half time talk by manager Alan the Swans came out fired up, Corey now in goal as no subs available. This was better play from the Swans taking the game to Bransgore with some good passing and blocking by the midfield and great defending by Jamie. The Swans were unlucky to conceed another goal but Jack Joseph and Jaya all linked well with Jack unlucky not to score. This half Bransgore were being held by the Swans, Jordan working well at the back with Jamie and Dexter doing some great tackling in midfield again the Swans were unlucky pushing forward not to score denied by some good defending by Bransgore. Although the 8’s had lost all the damage had been done in the 1st half and it was encouraging for the managers to see what was being taught at training was being displayed by the new boys in the 2nd half which had been a much better display. Final Score Swans 0 Bransgore 5 - MOM Jamie Horswell
Under 10’s
The 10’s saw Heathlands visit, the 1st time the two sides had met the 10’s without their keeper Josh Smith, In goal instead the 10’s welcomed new signing Josh Peaty. The 10’s took control of the match and were the dominant force pushing Heathlands back into their own half, the 10’s passing and moving the ball well through midfield and on the chance that Heathlands did mount an attack Robert & Ben at the back mopped it up and cleared the ball down field. Then against the run of play and approx 20 mins into the half Heathlands scored. Not to fret though captain marvellous Ollie got on the end of an Adam corner to flick the ball into the net. then after another good period of pressure the ball fell to Adam who neatly tucked it away to take the 10’s in at half time 2-1 up. Half Time Swans 2 Heathlands 1
The 2nd half was very much similar to the 1st with the Swans keeping up the pressure and unlucky not to add to their score with Mithcell, Kieran, Sonny all going close and again this time Bradley and Robert strong at the back. The 10’s all played really well using the width of the pitch, passing and moving the ball, working well as a team. Although the score was close this had been a comfortable victory for the 10’s Full time Swans 2 Heathlands 1 - MOM was awarded to Manager Bill by the boys as this was his 1st aperance at a 10’s victory this season.
