Under 7’s
Another bright sunny Sunday morning saw the young Swans make the short journey to Christchurch Youth where, after some outstanding displays, the U7s triumphed with an emphatic 5-1 win. Ace photographer Ian Derham was on hand to take a team photo, with Co-Manager Rob hurriedly combing his hair in a desperate bid to enhance his modelling career.
The game started brightly for the Swans and they were rewarded when, after a scramble in the box Bradley poked the ball home for his first ever goal in Swans colours.
The lead was short lived as Christchurch punctured the Swans defence with a smartly taken goal. The Swans began to take control again and after a succession of corners the ball reached “ace striker” Danny who controlled and blasted the ball home. H-T 1-2 Swans. The game was effectively ended as a contest when Danny grabbed his second of the match with a deflected effort.
Drew saw a lot of the ball in the second half but was constantly double teamed by the Christchurch defence. However this enabled William to push forward from defence and join the attack. Drew managed to shake off his markers and scored the Swans fourth into the far corner.
The Swans defence remained solid with Matthew making a brilliant tackle to deny an almost certain second goal. Michael in goal, saved neatly at the near post. Jake L had a great chance late on but miscued in front of goal. Drew then capped a great Swans second half display by blasting home a right foot shot from the edge of the box for 1-5 Swans.
Another fine display from the young Swans, with newcomer Mitchell making his debut in defence, which was superbly organised by Callum. Both managers were very pleased with attitude and commitment from all the boys, they were well rewarded by an impressive win.
The match was marred by the attitude of the Home Team parents, towards the encouragement the co-managers were giving to the Swans. Shame on you Christchurch Youth parents.

Under 8’s
The Under 8’s travelled to Kings Park to take on Boscombe Albion who had only won two games so far this season. A crisp morning after a rainy night saw a Boscombe pitch that was short of grass, looking very muddy (Ryans known for getting dirty on the driest pitch, little eyes lit up with the thought of getting his kit dirty). From kick off both teams were holding the play in midfield and then Boscombe broke through the Swans defence to take an early lead. The Swans heads went down and after a scrabble in the Swans goal mouth the ball went in off Jamies foot for an own goal. Jack and Corey tried to rally the team with good runs down the wings but the final ball let them down after some good defending by Boscombe. Again Jack tried to get down the wing this time using Joseph but this time unable to get the bal through to Zac. Half time Boscombe 2 Swans 0
After a few positional changes the swans tried again to break down the Boscombe defence but lost the ball for Boscombe to mont an attack, Ryan resilient in defence as ever clearing the ball out. Boscombe applied a good period of pressure pushing the Swans deep into their half. Corey took a weak goal kick, kicking it straight to Boscombes no 9 who ran the ball straight back at goal, the Swans defence failing to close him down letting him shoot to score a good goal. The Swans were now throwing every thing at Boscombe pushing up field in the search of a goal Corey and Jack both making some inpressive runs but Jordan & Jamie unable to assist and capitalise. Boscombe scoreda 4th after the Swans getting caught too far up field and not giving the back three enough support.
Full Time Boscombe 4 Swans 0
This was a dissapointing game to have lost, the Swans on their day a match for Boscombe but today the new boys lack of match play showing, Back to basics training needed. Still a couple of good displays by Ryan and Jack saw them both earn man of the match.
Great site!
Any chance of a copy of the team photo taken before the match last Sunday 19th?

To site administrator, the comment from Nigel is probably from Nigel Ormord who’s son joined day before the game in which the photo was taken.
Nigel, its best if you speak to me at Saturday(2nd December) training and we can try arrange something for the photo.
