Another dissapointing weekend for the Under 7’s with yet another game being called off due to the bad weather and water logged pitches, hopefully they’ll get a game next weekend with them hopefully playing at home to Rossgarth 10:30 Kick Off.
Under 8’s
With the weather actually holding out and plenty of sunushine the conditions were great for what turned out to be a great Swans performance. The Swans down to a basic 7 due to illness in the team started the game the stronger camping themselves in Hordles half with Jack, Corey and Jamie all having numerous shots at Hordles goal but being denied by some great saves by the Hordle keeper.

Dexter in goal was having little to do in the Swans goal and on the rare chance that Hordle managed to get through the Swans midfield of Zac, Jack and Jordan, Jaya was there to stop their advance with a couple of great clearances. Corey who was playing in defence was getting himselve forward well linking with Zac Jack and Jamie but was still being denied by the Hordle keeper but Hordle couldn’t stop a great blast by Corey who took the Swans in at half time 1-0 up. The second half started the same as the 1st the Swans creating some great chances Zac resilient in midfield with Jordan and Jack and Jamie who seemed to be all over the pitch.

With the Swans pushing for another goal they got caught out and Hordle managed a break but Jaya stood strong making a good challenge keeping Hordle at bay long enough for the other Swans to get back and clear the ball, Jaya looking like he’s found a new position in defence. As the game went on the Swans were still unable to get anything past Hordles keeper who was having a blinding game, the Swans were tiring and Dexter was having a bit more to do now, Hordle pressing for an equaliser but the Swans defence was holding strong. Towrds the end of the game Jack and Zac linked well Jack also playing a one two with Jamie and looking as if he was through on goal but got caught by a late tackle just on the edge of the box.
Jack stood up to take the free kick blasting a superb shot high into Hordles goal for the Swans to win 2-0, MOM going to Corey who led the team by example putting himself all over the pitch.
This was a good victory, the Swans having beaten Hordle at their ground 9-0 earlier in the season but since then Hordle had shored up their defence and found a keeper who was superb today.
Under 10’s
Swans kicked off and made a run for the Parkstone goal, only to be disposessed, Parkstone put good pressure on the Swans defence and Josh Smith in goal. The play was very equal for the first ten minutes, then Parkstone got past our defence and scored, with Josh having no chance to save the shot. Swans kept their heads up and continued to be a match for Parkstone on the pitch. Midfielders were battling for posession, Adam went in for a tackle and came off worst with an injured ankle, ending his game. Jamie quickly slotted into his position and joined Ollie and Sonny, all playing well in midfield.
Half-time Swans 0 Parkstone 1.
Swans started the second half well, with Jamie back in defence and Ben pushing into midfield, they looked the better team. Sonny made a strong run along the right wing, passing to Ollie, on to Mitch who scored levelling the game at 1-1. Kieren on for Ben who was starting to tire, playing his first game in a while after an injury. The Swans carried on attacking the Parkstone goal, hitting the post and several near misses. Parkstone were looking deflated and tired, they put some good passes together and forced some excellent saves from Josh.
The boys were at their best today and made Bill and Andy very proud to be their managers. Let’s hope they beat Purbeck Panthers next week and continue this sort of form for the rest of the season.
Full time 1-1. Man of the match Ollie Hills.
