On another bitterly cold Sunday, the young Swans travelled to Kings Park to take on Greenfields. I knew this was going to be a tough game and so it proved. The Young Guns were completely outplayed, barely having a shot on goal. The first half was almost entirely played in the Swans half as the boys struggled to cope with a very strong Greenfields. It seemed a miracle that the half ended 0-0.
A combination of bad finishing and excellent defending prevented the home side from overrunning the boys. Both Callum and William put in a tireless displays in defence, with Callum making a last ditch blocking tackle that any Premiership defender would have been proud of.
The first half ended with an injury to Bradley which forced him to miss the start of the second half. Drew and Louie battled hard in midfield but could gain no foothold in the game.
The second half had barely started when the boys found themselves two goals behind and with Callum having to be substituted early in the half, the writing was clearly on the wall for the Young Guns. Bradley came back into the game to replace the injured Callum but could do nothing to prevent a further three home goals being scored. The match ended 5-0 to the home side, the gulf between the teams was there to be seen. Another brilliant defensive contribution saw William easily take the MOM award.
Final Score: Swans 0 Greenfields 5

The 8’s at home this week to Milford on Sea, earlier in the season when these two teams met the Swans won 5-0 but Milford arrived looking like they were out for a result. The Swans again down to a basic 7 soon found out that Milford meant business but not to be out done the Swans were soon creating chances with Jamie Jack and Corey all coming close but for some good keeping by the Milford Keeper.

Jaya at the back was defending well holding up any advance by Milford until Corey who seemed to be everywhere, could get back. Dexter had a couple of shots to save but nothing too taxing and Jordan and Zac were wining balls in the midfield enabling Jack and Jamie to have a go at the Milford keeper but similar to the previous meeting both teams went in at half time at 0-0.

After a rousing half time talk by Alan & Mike the Swans came out fired up and were soon attacking the Milford goal and after a couple of long corners went begging, Corey and Zac played a nice short one two Corey blasting the ball in for the Swans 1st. Milford rallied back but Jaya and Dexter were having a good game at the back. A little later Jack and Jamie linked well laying the ball of to Corey who shot from at least 30 yards out blasting the ball into the back of the net giving the keeper no chance, great goal.

With the Swans finishing strongly and several more attemps on goal the game finished Swans 2 Milford 0 with Corey picking up MOM.
This was a good bounce back for the Swans after their hammering last week playing some of their best football so far this season especially in the 2nd half, the team now starting to bond and play as a team, well done boys.

Swans hopes were high this morning, playing bottom of the league Sturminster, the boys started attacking straight from kick off, with some good passing by Josh Peaty and Adam. Jamie was clearing his lines well in defence, the ball got through to Josh Smith in goal, who blasted his goal kick through to Bradley who scored. Swans continued to put pressure on their defence, with lots of play in midfield, Adam shot along the ground from the edge of the penalty area to score our 2nd. Sonny and Robert battling well in midfield, Adam shot from distance for Bradley to nudge the ball over the line 3-0. Good running along the wings, Sonny battled through to score our 4th.

Free kick to Swans just inside their half, Adam forced a cracking save from the goalie. Half time 4-0 to Swans.
Josh Peaty in goal for 2nd half, the Swans continued their attack with Mitch putting the ball through to Adam who passed to Bradley, scoring to complete his hat-trick. A few minutes later, Sturminster conceded a penalty which Josh Smith converted 6-0. Adam blasted the ball at the goalie, deflected off the cross bar and just went wide.

Ollie was excellent in defence, making crucial tackles to thwart any Sturminster attacks. He put the ball through to Mitch who blasted the ball home to make it 7-0. Robert put some good balls into the box, Jamie got on the end of one to make it 8-0. Ben kept putting the goalie under pressure, unable to find the final touch.

2nd penalty to Swans, converted by Ben to the delight of his team mates and the home crowd, a much deserved goal. Swans lost concentration and got caught out at the back twice in succession to concede two sloppy goals. Final score 9-2 to Swans, MoM Robert Sharpe.
