AFC Bournemouth 1 Bashley Vipers 4
Saturday 10th Feb saw Swans Under 8 Corey Jordan turn out again for AFC Bournemouth in a friendly against a strong Bashley Vipers.
The game was played over 3 x 20 minute sessions Afc Bournemouth playing a mixture of sides throughout the game giving Coach Mark Ormerod the opportunity to have a good look at his rising stars. Bashley fielded a strong team consisting mainly U8’s but also with three U10’s, Bashley leading their league in the Hampshire leagues.
The first 20 minutes saw Bournemouth concede 3 goals one own goal, Bashley proving hard to break down t the back with Bournemouth having few chances on goal, Bashley commanding the game in midfield putting the young Cherries under constant pressure at the back. The second period of twenty minutes saw Corey get his chance to impress, which he did playing at the back mopping up any balls played forward and putting some lovely passes through to he teammates enabling them to push forward and put constant pressure back on Bashley, eventually being rewarded with a well taken goal. Although  Bournemouth conceded another own goal from an unfortunate deflection of a corner, this period was probably the young Cherries strongest play of the match with Corey playing the best he has played for the Cherries since joining them. In the 3rd period the team was changed around again and instantly the Cherries were on the back foot with Bashley strongley pushing forward but this time unable to score. The young Cherries had a couple of chances on goal but not only did Bashley have a strong defence but also a good keeper. The game ended Cherries 1 Bashley 4
