Sunday saw the Swans U7s at home to Dexter Sports. The young Guns started with Drew and Louie as substitutes, George and Matthew slotting into defence alongside William which allowed Callum to push forward into his favoured midfield position alongside Bradley. Danny completed the line-up.
The match began with a lot of midfield play, neither side managing to get a shot in on goal, however the visitors did have a great chance which produced a great save from Michael in the Swans goal. The Swans however began to exert some pressure and were rewarded men a rash challenge on Callum brought a penalty. William stepped up and placed an unstoppable shot into the left hand corner. 1-0 Swans.
A double substitution saw Drew and Louie replace George and Matthew. The Swans kept up the pressure with a series of corners and were rewarded when Drew stabbed home from close range. 2-0 Swans The Young Guns were producing some excellent football their passing game carving open the away defence time after time. Some persistent play by Callum just before the break saw him net for the first time this season Half-Time 3-0 Swans.
The second half saw Bradley taking over goalkeeping duties from Michael  who slotted into defence alongside William. The young Swans were pushing forward looking for more goals but were caught out when the visitors broke away but some great tackling from Michael and Matthew prevented a certain goal. Bradley was then called into action and produced two excellent saves to thwart the visitors. The game was effectively ended as a contest when Drew gathered the ball just outside the area, beat a couple of defenders and struck home for a Swans fourth.4-0 Swans.
The visitors did however manage to get on the score sheet when some slack marking allowed a Dexter’s striker to poke the ball past Bradley.
The changes were coming thick and fast with each manager keen to give all the boys a much needed run out, near the end a short corner from William  saw Drew dribble along the goal line and net from an impossible angle for the Swans fifth and Drew’s third hat-trick of the season.

                                   Under 8s

The under 8s playing at home against Sway started the first half positively with Tomas Clarke starting his first game for the Swans in defence alongside Jaya. The Swans created a number of chances with Corey, Jack and Zac combining well in midfield. Jordan started up front but had to come off after a few minutes when the ball hit him in the face so Yan came on for him. After a lovely passing move between Jack and Corey, Jack crossed the ball for Thomas & Yan running in but not quite getting on the end of it. Then just before half time Zac put into practice one of the things we’ve been doing in training by running onto the ball and hitting it first time and it flew into the net for the Swans to go in at half time 1-0 up.
The second half was more of the same with Swans just not able to score then Sway scored from a free kick that should have been cleared. Just before the full time whistle the Swans conceded a penalty and Dexter did well to get a hand on it but could not keep it out. Even though the boys threw everything forward, they could not get the equalizer they deserved.
Man of the match was Zac Andress for an excellent performance and doing what he has been taught in training.
Full time Swans 1 Sway 2.

                                Under 10s

The under 10s played at home against Weymouth Victoria, who put us under pressure straight from kick off, challenging for every ball. But the 10s were up for a tough game and were a good match for them. Swans starting attacking well, with Sonny and Ollie almost scoring, but just shooting wide. With some good passing moves, Adam put a good ball into the area, which Mitch attacked but the goalie failed to hold onto the ball so Mitch made sure it went passed him at the 2nd attempt for our first goal. Straight from kick off, Ben put the ball through to Sonny who battled past several defenders to blast the ball home.

Straight from kick off again, Weymouth attacked our defence to score from distance with lots of power, injuring Josh S in goal. Josh P took up position in goal and made some crucial stops. Half time score 2-1 to Swans.

In the second half, the game continued to be very physical with both teams battling to win every ball. Josh S went on for Adam after he was injured, we started to lose our shape on the field and conceded an excellent equaliser. Swans determined not to draw again with this team, threw everything forward with Adam back on for Ben but were finding it hard to penetrate Weymouths defence. The Swans had several attempts at goal, forcing superb saves from their goalie. The boys battled well today and were an excellent match for this team. Final score 2-2

MOM Sonny Gudge for good battling and not losing his temper.
