The game was played in very hot weather for the time of year so it was helpful that the Young Swans had three subs to rely on.
The Swans took the game to their opponents with Drew making strong runs and Callum once again making the punishing tackles. Danny was restored to the attack and was quickly involved when he latched on to a through ball, his shot just missing the target. Drew then collected the ball and beat two defenders and shot into the net for a deserved 1-0 lead. Substitutions had to be made as the Swans tired in the heat. Half – Time Swans 1 Broadstone 0
The second half started badly for the Swans as Broadstone pushed forward, a defender picked up a loose ball and hit a high shot which Matthew just failed to get his hands on. 1-1 The game looked to be swinging in favour of the home side as Matthew was called to into action on several occasions but was equal to the task with some good saves. William was pushed into midfield and Callum reverted back into defence alongside Bradley. The Swans again began to take a grip of the game, Danny latched onto a through ball and scored with a good finish 2-1 Swans. Broadstone hit back immediately and scored an equaliser after some slack defending. Again the Swans came roaring back, with Louie and Bradley in the thick of the action. The Swans forced several corners in succession and as the ball cleared the goal area, Drew got a header in and the ball looped over the goalkeeper and into the net 3-2 Swans. Again the home side hit back but only to be outdone by a Swans sucker punch, Drew collected the ball in the home half and was clear in on goal and shot powerful into the net for a hard fought 4-2 victory.
Final Score: Swans 4 Broadstone 2. Scorers :- Drew (3) Danny 1 MOM: Bradley
Under 8’s
This was always going to be a hard game against Bransgore who hadn’t lost a game all season and sitting 2nd in the league, but our vallant Swans travelled to their ground with the biggest squad of the season made up of 10 regulars and 5 new boys from the open days, supported by a fantastic turn out by our ever faithful parents and new parents alike.
A scorching late morning sun set the temperature for a great little match the Swans captained by Jack raced forward attacking Bransgore’s end with venom Jamie and Zac forcing Bransgore to defend deep.

The Swans soon opened the scoring with Jamie netting his second goal in as many games what a great start. Yan was having a battle in midfield with Bransgores number 9 sticking to him like glue limiting his chances. Ryan made a couple of good tackles to stop Bransgore advances and with Corey in goal Bransgore were finding it hard to score. Bransgore caught the swans napping leaving their right flank exposed enabling Bransgore to get a good cross in leaving Corey no chance in goal. Not to be out done the swans came back with Jack and his midfiled working their socks off in the increasing heat and were soon rewarded with Jamie getting the ball to Jack who turned and shot from 20 yards out to score a blinder of a goal.

Bransgore came back forcing Jaya & Ryan deep Yan losing his man letting Bransgore in for their 2nd. Then just before half time the Swans got caught out again Bransgore putting together some nice passes to score their 3rd Corey having no chance again HT Bransgore 3 Swans 2.
In the 2nd half Bransgore were linking well and with the Swans pushing for goals got caught out with Dexter and Ryan struggliing to hold of a four man attack Bransgore quickly scoring their 4th & 5th. The Swans were playing some good football Zac, Jamie and Jack all linking well and forcing a couple of good saves by the Bransgore keeper. Corey was soon called into action again pulling off a couple of great saves but unable to stop Bransgore getting another couple to make it 7 - 2.

The Swans heads still didn’t go down and were still looking for a consilation goal forcing a couple of corners but to no avail just unable to get it in the back of the net. Bransgore pushed forward again passing and moving well opening up our defence again leaving Corey exposed in goal to score their 8th. With both teams both knackered from the heat the final score finished Bransgore 8 Swans 2. This had been a good display by the Swans and as in previous games they had played well in the first half but run out of steam in the 2nd half. You could see why Bransgore hadn’t lost a match all season with some good passing moves but to be fair the Swans had played well something to take into their final match of the season against Boscombe on the 29th.
Under 8’s Friendly

A warm welcome to potential new boys Nathan, Charlie, Adam, Lewis and Jack all invited to play in this friendly a good chance for Alan & Richard to have a look and see what the boys could do. This was also a good opportunity for Jaya, Jordan, Dexter and Thomas to play in different positions. Bransgore still fielding quite a strong team with three new boys forced the new Swans back into their half with some frantic defending and some good stops by Thomas.

The swans were still finding their feet and Nathan, Charlie and the twins were starting to pass and move nicely getting the ball into Bransgores half and forcing a good save from their keeper. Adam, Jack and Lewis were defending well clearing the ball when needed Dexter making some good tackles. Thomas was the busier of the keepers making some good stops with his feet but at half time both teams went in at 0-0.
Bransgore not wanting to lose brought on experienced Liam who quickly opened up the swans inexperienced defence scoring a hat-trick but the new boys battled on well and were getting more confident with their passing Adam and Jack having a blinder at the back in defence making some good stops. Nathan and Charlie had a couple of chances as did Jaya and Jordan but the Bransgore keeper wasn’t letting much in. Thomas and Lewis swapped in goal but Lewis was soon called into action with the swans pushing forward leaving their keeper exposed, Lewis unable to stop a good finish by Bransgore.

The new guns were tiring now which was to be expected being their 1st match and in warm weather and were unlucky to conceed two more goals before full time. It was encouraging to see how well the team had played against a more experienced Bransgore side all the new boys playing well the score not important and had we put Jamie or Jack on I’m sure the score line would have been different, but this was about seeing what the new boys could do and from 1st impressions it was encouraging for the coaches and with a bit of team work and skills training I’m sure the new boys would be a great asset to the the Swans for next season and more importantly all the boys really enjoyed themselves, well done boys.
Under 10’s
The last match of the season has finally come,
So come on boys lets have some fun.
The first half we had to play up hill,
Robert and Sonny on the bench were sat still.
Josh Peaty in goal gave Smiffy a rest,
So come on Swans let’s put Lytchett to the test.
Six minutes gone Smiffy off and Sonny onto the pitch,
Nine minutes gone and Robert replaces Mitch.
Fourteen minutes gone with play either end,
But Lytchett scored a goal we were unable to defend.
Nineteen minutes and Bradley off and Smiffy back in the game,
With the ball flying end to end the score remained the same.
Half time whistle and a job well done,
But the better half was still to come.
The second half we played downhill,
Bradley and Josh on the bench were sat still.
Seven minutes in Ollie off replaced by Josh P,
Swans playing great football for all to see.
Bradley on for Sonny with ten minutes passed,
With the ball being played hard and fast.
Thirteen minutes gone Mitch strikes the ball in the net,
At the score one all this game isn’t over yet.
Jamie off and Ollie on with fifteen minutes gone,
At eighteen minutes Smiffy off and Sonny back on.
Twenty minutes gone Sonny got a blinder of a goal,
Hitting the ball with all his heart and soul.
Twenty two minutes Mitch off Jamie returns to the field of play,
Defend our lead the supporters pray.
Full time whistle, the game is done,
The mighty Swans two and Lytchett one.
