A Message From The Chairman

Well the 2006/7 season was an exciting and very busy one with the club going from strength to strength We had three teams playing in the local leagues who all achieved outstanding results with all the teams representing themselves and the club to a very high standard, well done boys.
We also developed an U12’s team who played a number of friendlies showing some great spirit and determination that will do them well for next season
All the teams played in the local tournaments with a good level of success, the U7’s winning the Cannon Colts Tournament. The tournaments were good fun even with the english weather putting a dampner on a couple but the teams and parents all enjoyed themselves.
We held some open days and raised the profile of the club gaining a lot of interest from boys and girls looking to join the club which we have seen evidence of from new registrations for next season.
We have had a lot of interest in some of our boys from the local professional clubs with several getting trials and with our U8’s captain Corey Jordan getting signed to Bournemouth for next season, well done Corey.
Four of our coaches gained their FA level 1 badges, well done to all
We have had new members join the Committee, gained new sponsorship for next season which will see new kits for most of the teams and continued to grow strong relationships with organisations within the local community such as the local schools, health club, the local working mens club, the local leagues and local businesses.
This season we have seen the Mudeford Swans gain recognition from other clubs and we have built some good relationships with other clubs and their coaches, firmly putting this club on the map.
We have also had a couple of social events at christmas and a presentation BBQ day which were great for all parents and children to get together and thanks to the Cygnets for performing some great dance routines at these events.
All in all a very busy season but next season brings on more challenges with the club having grown in numbers with more teams entering the local leagues including the progression from Mini Football into Youth Football for some of the teams.
We continue to develop our mini football teams with an U5’s, U6’s & U7’s teams all coming through and we will continue to develop the age groups that currently have no teams playing in leagues next season.
We will also be looking to further develop our coaches and put some of our older youth and parents through referee and linesmen courses.

Our continued aim as a club is to make football enjoyable and fair for all children from the local community, to keep costs realistic and affordable and continue to progress the club for the future. Alot of what we have achieved though as a club and what we will endeavour to continue to achieve throughout next season could not have been done without the great levels of commitment from some individuals, the committee, our coaches and players and from the magnificent support from our parents a big thank you to all.

With the club now shut down until the 4th August please enjoy the rest over these weeks and be safe and we look forward to seeing you all on the 4th for the start to another enjoyable campaign for 2007/8.

Thank You
