What a fantastic weekend of football, a busy one with four teams in action U7’s, U8’s,U9’s & U13’s and a in house freindly training match between the U11’s & U13’s.
Saturday saw the U11’s play their first match this season against the U13’s/14’s playing their first match using the off side rule and with a number of new signings. The match was played at the Mudeford Wood Community Centre a venue we have secured and that will be used mainly for the mini soccer this season.
The 11’s playing in their new very bright orange strip played some great football against a strong side from the 13’s/14’s the score irrelevent but an entertaining game never the less. The match was also a good opportunity for Jackie to learn how to run the line, Jackie making some good calls, well done Jackie.
Sunday saw the U7’s play their first ever match against a strong and very big Corfe Mullen side the 7’s taking an early lead going 2 up within the first 5mins. Corfe mullen then came back to win the game 5-2 but still a great effort by our U7’s in thier first game, well done all. The U8’s notched up their 3rd victory of the season in a row proving that they are going to be a hard team to beat this year, their well earned victory taking them to the top of the league, well done boys. The U9’s got their first victory of the seson having come close on their previous two games but this week getting their first win to set up the rest of the season, well done boys. The U13’s playing their 2nd league game of the season saw them play a very physical team from Everton, but having put the scare on Lymington in the 2nd half the previous week saw them continue that form and run out convincing winners this week, the 13’s starting to gel as a unit very well now, well done boys. Congratulations to all the teams that played this weekend, to the coaches for their hard work and to the magnificent support from the parents.
