Teams For Next Season

Hi all hope you are enjoying the end of season break, just to let you all know that for next season we have had accepted into the BYFL the following teams:
U8’s
U9’s
U10’s
U12’s
U14’s
U16’s
We will also continue to develop our U5’s & U6’s with friendlies (non competitive) games being organised through the season.

This year the FA have decided that the U8’s will be non competitive, this is the same for all teams at this age group in any youth football leagues, The FA may consider making other mini soccer age groups the same for next year, crazy I know but this will be a rule we will have to adhere to, other wise we could lose our FA affiliation.

Good news for the club is that next season will see two new age groups for the club being accepted into the BYFL the U12’s & U16’s, this adds to the strength of the club where we will have 8 teams playing football next season.

A REMINDER!!! we need to have all children signed to the club for them to be able to play next season, anybody still requiring registration forms please contact either your team coach or contact Richard on 07771955136 or Karen on 07801967234, any outstanding forms and registration fees can be sent to Karen Derham our club secretary at 146 Mudeford Lane, Mudeford, Christchurch, Dorset, BH23 3HS.

BYFL REGISTRATION FORMS - For those of you that have filled in these forms please can we have them back ASAP, anybody that has not filled one of these forms (blue for mini soccer & yellow for Youth football) these are available from your team coaches or you can ring Richard or Karen on the numbers above. All BYFL forms need to be back ASAP and at the latest mid JULY in order for your team to be able to play next season, min of 7 for mini soccer teams and 11 for youth teams, IF WE DO NOT GET THE MINIMUM NUMBERS BACK FOR EACH TEAM, THE TEAM WILL NOT BE PLAYING NEXT SEASON!!!

With so many teams playing next season we are looking for volunteer match officials to help on match days, referees for the mini soccer teams and referees and linesmen for the youth football. Anybody that would like to volunteer their time then the club would be very grateful and would assist with courses and pay for CRB checks (another FA ruling for next season). If anybody would like to earn some cash for officiating any matches then please contact Richard on 07771955136.

Good Luck to all the teams playing in tournaments over the next few weeks, please remember that tournaments although competitive are about taking part and enjoying the occasion, please also remember that you are representing the club and any bad behavior will reflect on the club which could mean we will not be invited back next season, PARENTS THIS ALSO APPLIES TO YOU AS WELL, if you are unhappy with any decisions by officials then complaints should be taken through your team coach not direct.

Go through Highcliffe and at the round-a-bout take the 2^nd exit staying on the A337 heading towards New Milton / Lymington. Stay on this road past New Milton heading towards Lymington, go through Downton and past Barnes Lane where you turn for Milford-on-Sea, continue heading towards Lymington until you come into Everton, Turn left into Everton Road then 1^st right into Old Christchurch Rd continue along and take the 2^nd left into Wainsford Rd, continue along past the Londis shop on your right and turn left into Greenmead Ave, at the end of this road there is a gate into the pitches. From Christchurch take the fairmile road towards the airport, go past the airport until you come to Parley cross roads, here turn left into new road and follow over the bridge(mind the speed camera!!) until you come to a round-a-bout take the 3rd exit towards kinson, continue along, through a set of traffic lights and take the third right into Millhams road, then take the 2nd right into Manor Farm Rd and the club is at the end of the road, please be there for 11:30 for a 12KO against Moordown.

End of Season Break

The club will close for an end of season break through June and July, this is to give the children, coaches and parents a well deserved break.

Last training day Saturday 31st May returning on Saturday 26th July.

The club has entered into several tournaments through this break, details are on the Tournament Page of the website, we will continue to update this page over the following weeks. Some coaches have said that they may train prior to these tournaments, you will have to contact individual coaches to confirm any training dates or for information regarding the tournaments.

We will endeavor to keep you informed through the club closure as much as we can on the website and through newsletters. Anybody that would like to receive a newsletter by email and has not submitted their email address, please send an email to Jackie at richard.jordan7@ntlworld.com.

2008/9 Registrations

Club registration forms for next season, should have been given out at this weekends training by your team coaches. Anybody that has not received a form will be able to pick one up at this weekends presentation day or you can collect one from your team coach or Richard Jordan 07771955136.

To aid with administration could we ask that all registration forms are returned with correct payment and copies of birth certificates before the close of season, Saturday 31st May 2008.

Club registration is necessary for your child to be able to train and play for the club next season.
Registration forms for the BYFL and Dorset Leagues will follow shortly (hopefully before the end of season).
Any new players signing to the club will receive a welcome pack which requires more forms to be filled in and returned.

If you have any concerns or questions with reference to any of the forms that need to be filled in, please do not hesitate to call Richard on 07771955136.

This is a busy and stressful time for our club secretary and your assistance in returning all forms correctly and ASAP is greatly appreciated.

AGM & End of Season Presentation Day 2007/8

This years AGM & Presentation day will take place on the 10th May at Mudeford Scouts Hut at Stanpit between 1pm & 9pm
Because of limited space we have had to issue tickets on a first come basis and limited to child plus immediate family.
All children that are signed on to the club will be expected to attend to pick up their club 2007/8 medals, any league awards/certificates plus there will be individual awards for each age group U6’s - U13’s for Players Player and Coaches Most Improved Player of the year.

- AGM will take place between 1pm & 2pm
- Presentations will be held after 5pm
- There will be other activities through the day including a penallty shootout.
-There will also be BBQ through the day with Burgers & Hot Dogs available at a small charge.
- Please bring your own drinks.

This day has proved to be a very good and enjoyable day in the past giving players and parents the opportunity to mix and have fun and we look forward to seeing you all on the 10th.

U8’s win BYFL league

Well done to the clubs Under 8’s team who beat Boscombe Albion U8’s 8-1 to win the BYFL Div 17 league.

It was a blustery cold morning after the snow had fallen and with a valiant effort by the U8’s coaches and parents to get the pitch ready, everybodies nerves were stretched to the limit with the boys needing just a draw to win the league.

Boscombe took the lead after a few minutes and there was a noticeable silence from the U8’s parents and supporters but the swans stepped up a gear and soon regained the lead going in at half time 2-1 up. In the second half the swans took control and with some great link play were soon banging the goals in against a good Boscombe side. The score finished 8-1 after a great all round team effort with Drew Campbell scoring 4, Callum Baughan scoring 2 and William Luckwell & Bradley Wyatt May both netting 1 each.

A fantastic end to a brilliant season with both coaches Jim Campbell & Rob Baughan and the boys all getting a just reward for all the hard work they all have put in this season.

Mudeford Junior School win Christchurch Schools Tournaments

U11’s Schools Tournament

The club would like to congratulate all our under 11’s boys who took part in this tournament on the 6th March. Mudeford Junior school went on to win this age group with Adam Morley, Sonny Gudge, Josh Smith, Mitchell Bentley and Jamie Trimble all playing for this team.

Also playing in the tournament were other Swans players, Robert Sharpe playing for Christchurch School and Joel Hood and Josh Peatty playing for Somerford Primary School.

Well done to all the boy’s from the club who took part in this competition.

U9’s Tournament

The club would also like to congratulate all our U9’s boy’s who also took part in the Christchurch Schools Tournament on the 18th March. Mudeford Juniors again won this age group and were represented by swans players Jack Wyeth and Kenny Rickards also playing for this team were ex players Corey Jordan and Joe Cooke who now play for AFC Bournemouth U9’s and Sam Baker.

Also playing in this tournament were Yan Brown who played for Somerford Primary, Nathan Smith and Charlie Mckenzie who played for Highcliffe Primary.

Well done to all the boy’s from the club who took part in this competition.
